
The 39th edition of the Tunis International Book Fair concluded on Sunday, May 4, 2025, after ten days of cultural and intellectual activities at the Palais des Expositions in El Kram. Held under the theme "We Read to Build," the fair saw widespread participation from publishing houses, writers, and intellectuals from Tunisia and abroad, making it a prominent event on the Tunisian cultural scene.
Wide international participation
The 39th edition of the fair attracted 313 exhibitors from 29 countries, including 147 Tunisian exhibitors and 166 exhibitors from Arab and foreign countries. More than 110,000 titles were on display, offering visitors the opportunity to browse a diverse range of literary, scientific, and intellectual publications.
The People's Republic of China was the guest of honor at this edition, with 40 publishing houses participating and presenting a diverse cultural program that included artistic performances and seminars on translation and cultural exchange, reflecting the depth of cultural relations between Tunisia and China.
Distinctive cultural events
The exhibition included intellectual seminars and dialogues on various topics, including "Tunisian Thinkers and the Enlightenment" and "Translation and Acculturation," in addition to meetings with prominent writers and thinkers such as Libyan author Ibrahim Al-Koni, Algerian-French translator Souad Labiz, and Yemeni novelist Habib Abdulrab Sururi.
A special meeting titled "Sadiqiya School: 150 Years of Radiance" was also held, reviewing the history of this prestigious educational institution and its role in the intellectual and cultural renaissance in Tunisia.

In support of and encouragement of creativity, the exhibition's organizing committee announced the winners of the literary and intellectual creativity awards during a ceremony held on Wednesday evening, April 30, 2025, in the presence of Minister of Cultural Affairs Amina Srarfi and a number of cultural and media figures.
